Dr Velasco completed her undergraduate degree at The University of Texas at El Paso and received her medical degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch - Galveston.  She completed her pediatric residency at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Temple, Texas.  She completed her pediatric pulmonology fellowship at Arkansas Children's Hospital.

Dr Velasco is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and is board-certified with the American Board of Pediatrics.

Dr Velasco resides in East Falls neighborhood of Philadelphia with her husband Jaime and their 2 dogs.
